Prepare your running shoes for the upcoming Bangkok Airways Samui Half Marathon on Sunday, June 11, 2023. This much-anticipated race will take place from 05:00-09:00 am, with participants sharing the road with vehicles and motorcycles. To ensure safety, please avoid parking along the race route and drive cautiously during the event. This article will guide you through the detailed route for each race category.
21 km Race Route (05:00 – 09:00 am)
The half marathon will kick off at Mercury Junction and pass through significant checkpoints, including Soi Khao Hua Jook, Soi Bo Nok, Colom Junction, Wat Sawang Junction, and Boon Jamnong Junction. Runners will continue along Soi Khao Phra (Yang Nam) and then pass Ban Don Hospital and Big C.
Following the Construction Site at Soi Khao Phra, participants will reach Bo Phut 3-Way Junction and then proceed to Soi in front of Bo Phut School. The route continues through Krung Thai Bang Rak Junction, Pak Khlong Junction, Wat Phra Yai, and the End of Soi 8. Finally, runners will navigate Thong Sai Junction, Mia Liao Curve, Ta Kiang Curve, Airport Shortcut, Mad Rang Curve, and Old Muay Thai Stadium Junction, finishing at Soi Wat Bua Phang.
10 km Race Route (06:00 – 08:00 am)
Starting from Mercury Junction, the 10 km race route will cover Chaweng Head Phru, Soi Khao Hua Jook, Soi Bo Nok, Colom Junction, Wat Sawang Junction, and Boon Jamnong Junction. The route then follows Soi Khao Phra (Yang Nam), passing Ban Don Hospital and Big C before reaching the Construction Site at Soi Khao Phra.
Next, participants will pass Wattana Hospital and Wat Sawang 3-Way Junction, followed by City Junction, Soi Mor Kanjana, and Lotus Market Dao. The route then heads to San Ling Junction, Phetbancha Muay Thai Stadium Junction, and Da Phleung 3-Way Junction. The race will conclude on Chaweng Beach Road, near the Central Entrance Beachside.
5 km Race Route (06:15 – 07:15 am)
The 5 km race will commence at Mercury Junction and proceed to Soi Wat Bua Phang and the Old Muay Thai Stadium Junction. Runners will then access the beach via the ARK BAR Beach Access and Sala Khoy Beach Access. The final stretch will take place along Chaweng Beach Road, with the finish line located at the Central Entrance Beachside.
