A comprehensive training program was conducted to enhance social welfare for the elderly through integrated community networks and the promotion of moral values. The program aimed to develop the capacity and quality of life of the elderly holistically.
Integrated Community Networks and the Promotion of Moral Values
From August 29 to September 1, 2013, Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui Municipality, Mr. Nutthaphon Rattanarak, along with municipal council members and officials from the Department of Social Welfare, organized the training program. The event was attended by committee members, members of the senior citizen organization of Koh Samui Municipality, and first-generation students of the elderly in Koh Samui Municipality.
The training took place at various locations, including Pathum Thani Province, Nonthaburi Province, and Bangkok.
Learning Exchange and Knowledge Transfer
Participants in the program were given workbooks and engaged in smaller group discussions focused on project objectives and gathering opinions on issues, needs, and development of capacities and welfare for the elderly. The training and learning exchange covered various topics, such as elderly welfare management through knowledge transfer and learning exchange processes from network partners based on the STRONG MODEL.
Holistic Quality of Life Development
Additional lectures were provided on topics such as promoting the elderly to form groups and strengthen their network for holistic quality of life development. These learning sessions took place at the Elderly Quality of Life Development Center in Nonthaburi Municipality, Nonthaburi Province.
Enhancing Physical and Mental Health through Moral Principles
The training also sought to improve the physical and mental health of the elderly by promoting moral principles that contribute to happiness in later life. These sessions were held at Wat Thammamongkol Thaoboonnontha Wihan, Bangkok.
By providing comprehensive training and support across all aspects of elderly care, the program aimed to improve the quality of life for the elderly in the Koh Samui Municipality area.
