The Event
On June 3, 2023, a grand ceremony was held at Kanchanaphisek Meeting Hall in Group 3, Ang Thong Subdistrict, Koh Samui District, Surat Thani Province, to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen. The event commenced at 18:00 hrs, and Mr. Chayaphon Intrasupa, the District Chief of Koh Samui, presided over the ceremony. Distinguished guests, including Mr. Suthamma Samthong, Deputy Mayor, and Mr. Pakorn Kanchanaphon, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Koh Samui, attended the event. Representatives from various government agencies, state enterprises, executives, officials, civil servants, and residents of Koh Samui District also participated in the ceremony, showcasing their unity and continued support for the monarchy.
Offerings and Tributes
The ceremony featured an offering of royal insignia and the traditional laying of pan pum, which are decorative arrangements made from silver and gold. The District Chief of Koh Samui led the attendees in presenting these offerings before the Royal Cypher of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Patcharasuthapimol. Following the formal presentation of gifts, an auspicious blessing was offered, and the victory candle was lit to symbolize respect, good fortune, and prosperity for the kingdom.
Singing the Royal Anthem
After the lighting of the victory candle, all attendees joined together in singing the Royal Anthem. This act of solidarity among the participants signified their deep reverence, loyalty, and devotion to the Thai monarchy and all the people of Koh Samui.
