Four Suspects Detained in Connection with German Broker’s Murder
On July 22, police in Chon Buri arrested four foreign suspects, including the leader of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in Pattaya, during a raid connected to the alleged murder of German property broker Hans Peter Walter Mack in Nong Prue district.
Expanded Investigation into Motorcycle Gang
Deputy national police chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn revealed that the Provincial Police Region 2 and Chon Buri Provincial Police broadened their investigations into the motorcycle gang, discovering members of various nationalities. The gang allegedly engaged in illegal activities, including drug and human trafficking.
Crackdown Following Mack’s Murder
The raid followed the June 4 murder of Mack, which led to the arrest of German national Olaf Thorsten Brinkmann, 52, a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, and three other suspects: Petra Christl Grundgreif, 54, Nicole Frevel, 52, and Shahrukh Karim Uddin, 27.
Arrest of Gang Leader and Other Members
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a crackdown on eight premises, arresting the gang’s leader, Mr. Thomas, an Austrian national, at a house in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district. Thomas was preparing to flee the country when he was detained. A Harley Davidson motorcycle and other evidence were confiscated.
Upon arrest, Mr. Thomas admitted to being the gang’s leader but claimed to have quit after learning of Mack’s murder. A background check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant for fraud and inputting false information into a computer system. Thomas was sent to Pattaya police station for further legal action.
Additional Arrests and Visa Revocations
During the operation, another gang member, Danny, a German national, was arrested at a house in Chokchai Garden Home 2 in tambon Nong Prue. He tested positive for illicit drug use, and his Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle was seized.
Police also arrested Daniel, an American national, and Theodor, a Swiss national, during the raid. Their visas were revoked after Chonburi Immigration Office and Investigation Immigration Division 3 found that they violated the Immigration Act 1979. Four motorcycles were confiscated from the two suspects.
Ongoing Investigation into Outlaws Motorcycle Club
Pol Gen Surachate said police would continue to investigate the Outlaws Motorcycle Club and other criminal gangs implicated in crimes within the kingdom.
