The String of Thefts in Samut Prakan
Three Colombian nationals, identified as Alexandro Giovan Cuellar Pulido, Henrry Yeferson Delgado Bogota, and Maricela Cifuentes Hernandez, were recently arrested for their involvement in a series of burglaries at luxury homes in Samut Prakan and neighboring provinces. The trio had been causing havoc in the area, targeting high-end residential properties.
The Investigation and Arrest
Following a burglary report at a luxury housing estate in tambon Bang Muang, Samut Prakan, on August 29, the police began their investigation. They discovered that a safe in a bedroom on the second floor had been forcibly opened, and a significant amount of cash, jewelry, and other valuable items were stolen. Security camera footage from the estate revealed that the same group had broken into another house that night before entering the property in question.
On September 2, the Colombian gang was linked to two more break-ins at homes in an area under the jurisdiction of Bang Kaew police station in Samut Prakan. This prompted the police to investigate further, eventually leading to the identification of the three Colombian suspects.
Suspects’ Hideout and Modus Operandi
The suspects had been hiding in a rented home in Chonburi province, using it as their base to stage burglaries in Samut Prakan and other nearby provinces before returning to Chonburi. The police received information that the gang was planning another break-in at a luxury home in Pathum Thani province. Authorities monitored their movements and successfully captured all three suspects with burglary tools and other items on September 7.
Items Seized from the Suspects
During the arrest, the police confiscated a Toyota Vios with Chon Buri license plates, two Prachuap Khiri Khan license plates, burglary tools, beanie hats, and various currencies amounting to 32,700 baht. In addition, the officers recovered more than 100 other items linked to the burglaries.
Suspects Handed Over to Local Authorities
The trio of Colombian nationals was handed over to police investigators at Muang police station in Samut Prakan for further questioning and processing, as the authorities seek to uncover any other potential burglaries in the region and resolve the case completely.
