A Glimpse into the College’s Journey
Dusit Thani College, an esteemed educational institution specializing in the hospitality business under Dusit International, commemorated its 30th anniversary recently. Bangkok Post, Thailand’s leading English-language media, was invited to socialize and participate in workshops at the college. The event showcased the dedication and expertise of the institute in cultivating quality professionals for Thailand’s tourism and hospitality industry.
A Warm Welcome and Engaging Workshops
The celebration program included a delightful luncheon at The Chinese Restaurant, Dusit Princess Srinakarin Hotel Bangkok. Frouke Gerbens, Rector of Dusit Thani College, and the Department of Public Relations welcomed the distinguished guests. The event featured engaging workshops such as a cocktail mixing session led by instructors from the Hotel Management Program and a Madeleine baking class conducted by instructors from the Culinary Arts Program. Attendees also had the opportunity to take a tour inside the college, providing insights into the comprehensive learning methods employed.
The College’s Evolution and Program Offerings
According to Frouke Gerbens, Dusit Thani College was established based on Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui’s vision, the founder of Dusit Thani Hotel. Being the first and only specialized educational institution in Thailand’s hospitality industry, the college has a rich 30-year history of educating students in the field. During this time, the college has continually adapted its curricula to address the ever-changing demands of the industry.
The college offers Bachelor and Master programs, including its renowned Bachelor of Business Administration Programs in both Thai and International tracks. These programs encompass hotel management and culinary arts knowledge. Additionally, the Master program focuses on business administration (MBA) within the hospitality sector. Short courses are available for the general public, and the college recently introduced the Dusit Hospitality Academy (DHA), a flexible certificate program offering 3, 6, or 9 months of professional training for individuals keen on starting, transitioning, or advancing in hospitality businesses.
Gratitude to the Media and Commitment to Excellence
Frouke Gerbens expressed gratitude for the media support, which played a crucial role in the college’s progress and international recognition. She emphasized the college’s dedication to continually enhancing its educational offerings in line with current trends and international standards. Aside from its educational mission, the college is also committed to contributing to the development of the hospitality industry, society, community, and environmental protection and sustainability.
