Opening Ceremony
On August 24, 2013, at 09:00 a.m., the opening ceremony of the Community Committee Training Project in Community Administration and Management for the year 2013 took place at the International College of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, Bo Phut Subdistrict, Ko Samui. Mr. Suthum Samthong, Deputy Mayor of Ko Samui City, acted on behalf of the Mayor of Ko Samui City. The event was attended by administrators, city council members, government officials, trainers, municipal staff, and members of the community committees.
Training Program Highlights
The training project involved 170 participants and featured several knowledgeable speakers who shared their expertise and experiences in various topics related to community administration and management.
Urban Planning and Municipal Infrastructure Management
Mr. Panom Wilairat, Secretary of Ko Samui City Municipality, provided knowledge on urban planning and municipal infrastructure management. He discussed local government policies and the legal framework for community committee operations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Community Planning
Dr. Chanprapon Chuangchoti, Dean of the International College of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, imparted knowledge on the process of community planning. This is a primary responsibility of community committees as per legal requirements. He also provided guidance on group practice in writing projects according to standardized formats.
Meeting Report Writing and Financial Regulations
Ms. Benyanit Wiangwira, Director of the Social Welfare Division, taught participants about meeting report writing, performance reporting, financial and treasury regulations, and documentation necessary for community committee members to claim remuneration in the future.
Public Health and Environment
Ms. Supinya Sritongkul, Deputy Mayor of Ko Samui City, lectured about the mission of the Public Health and Environment Division. She focused on the integration of health and environmental aspects for community residents.
Ongoing Initiatives and Benefits
The Social Welfare Division of the Ko Samui City Municipality conducted the Community Committee Training Project in Community Administration and Management to strengthen leadership skills and capabilities in community management. The project aimed to promote teamwork and encourage continuous community development activities.
The gained knowledge and skills from this training project will enable effective application in community management and serve as an essential mechanism for driving the administration’s policies towards tangible implementation.
