On July 7, 2013, Mr. Niwet Saksri, the hospital director, presided over the opening ceremony of the Dengue Fever and Chikungunya Disease Prevention and Control Campaign. The primary goal of the campaign is to reduce the incidence of dengue fever in the area through the following strategies:

  1. Promoting cooperation between local communities and organizations to establish a united front against these diseases.
  2. Continuous control and prevention efforts to reduce the chances of dengue fever outbreaks.
  3. Reducing the prevalence of Aedes mosquito larvae by implementing effective mosquito control measures.
  4. Educating the public about the importance of maintaining a clean environment to prevent mosquito breeding grounds.

The campaign was developed by the Mae Nam Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) for groups 1-6. The SAO sought financial support and equipment from the Koh Samui Municipal Health Insurance Fund to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

The campaign targeted 500 households in the area, emphasizing the importance of community participation and joint efforts to create a healthier living environment for all.
