Opening Ceremony

On August 17, 2023, at 8:30 am, the Koh Samui Municipality held the opening ceremony of the Firefighter Training Program for the year 2023. The event took place at the Petch Samui Meeting Room, with Deputy Mayor Suthum Samthong presiding over the ceremony. The program focused on modern firefighting techniques and spanned two days, from August 17 to 18, 2023.

Participants and Guest Speakers

A total of 56 officials from various firefighting units participated in the training. The executive board, deputy municipal clerks, and heads of government sections were also in attendance. The theoretical part of the training took place on the first day and featured five guest speakers from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center, Zone 18 in Phuket Province, and the Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Surat Thani Province. The guest speakers included:

  1. Mr. Yuttachai Srisamphan
  2. Mr. Chaiwut Wichai Thawat
  3. Mr. Kiatphong Shin Somboonkit
  4. Mr. Jamroon Meesuwan
  5. Mr. Itthiphon Thong Thachang

Training Objectives

The primary aim of the firefighter training program was to provide officials with the knowledge and expertise necessary to understand and perform their roles effectively. The program also sought to enhance the capabilities of firefighters in their future responsibilities, ensuring they are well-prepared to face a variety of challenges in the field.
