Introduction

On June 15, 2023, a meeting of the Community Committee and Network Organization was held at 13:30 in the Phet Samui meeting room, Koh Samui Municipality Office. The event was led by Mr. Suthum Sam Thong, the Deputy Mayor, and attended by various stakeholders, including 85 community members.

Agenda

Current Community Committee Term Completion

The meeting discussed the impending end of the term for the current community committee. The Koh Samui Municipality had plans to elect a new community committee, taking into consideration the performance and contributions of the current committee members.

Community Development Plan 2013

The promotion and support plan for community development in 2013 was presented. This included outlining projects, initiatives, and activities that aimed to improve the quality of life for local residents, foster social cohesion, and promote sustainable living.

Training for Community Committees on Community Management

To ensure effective and efficient community management, it was decided that training would be provided for community committees in 2013. The training would focus on capacity building, leadership skills, and conflict resolution.

Sports Programs to Connect Community Power

The meeting discussed the implementation of sports programs in 2013 to foster a sense of community spirit and encourage cooperation among residents. These activities would also promote physical and mental well-being.

Land and Building Taxes

A clarification on paying land and building taxes was provided by the treasury department. This aimed to educate community members about their financial obligations and the process for meeting these requirements.

Health Budget Support and Initiatives

The meeting also addressed the health budget support from the National Health Security Fund (NHSO) and the importance of maintaining a healthy community. Initiatives such as mobile health check-ups and CPR training were proposed by the Public Health and Environment Division to enhance the overall well-being of residents.

Next Steps

There will be a public announcement for citizens to exercise their right to elect a new community committee in the future. This will ensure a democratic process in selecting leaders who will work towards the betterment of the community and address the challenges faced by residents.
