An Introduction to the Project

The Koh Samui Teqball Tour Mobile Dental Unit Project, initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, aims to improve oral health among the elderly population. Scheduled for the fiscal year 2023, the project focuses on providing accessible dental care services and promoting proper oral hygiene habits.

Opening Ceremony Details

On August 10, 2023, the opening ceremony of the project took place at the Elderly Center in Lipa Noi Subdistrict. Ms. Panida Pahukan, Deputy Secretary of the Municipality, presided over the event. The initiative is a collaboration between Koh Samui Municipality and Koh Samui Hospital.

Project Objectives and Target Audience

The project targets elderly individuals across 7 subdistricts, totaling 800 participants. The main objectives are:

  • Raising awareness about personal dental health issues
  • Providing dental health education and teaching proper oral care techniques
  • Ensuring equal access to dental services for all, including those who cannot travel for care
  • Fostering a community-wide focus on dental health

Implementation and Timeline

The Mobile Dental Unit Project is set to run from August 10-16, 2023. With support from the Koh Samui Municipality Health Insurance Fund, the project aims to provide public dental health education and promote good dental health attitudes and behaviors, ultimately leading to a happier and healthier life for the citizens of Koh Samui.
