Incident Overview
A Russian tourist, identified as 33-year-old Oleg Rusovsiannikov, was injured during an altercation with a group of guards at a go-go bar on Pattaya’s Walking Street. The incident occurred early on a Sunday in the Bang Lamung district’s tambon Nong Prue, and was reported to the Pattaya police at around 3:30 am.
The Victim’s Condition
Upon arrival, the police discovered Rusovsiannikov with bruises and bleeding from his face. Witnesses stated that the man had consumed some drinks at the bar and left without paying his bill. After two or three guards followed him and a heated argument ensued, the Russian tourist was attacked by the guards, much to the curiosity of onlookers.
Police Investigation and Search for Suspects
Following the assault, the guards involved in the incident vanished from the scene. Rusovsiannikov was subsequently taken to the police station, where he filed a formal complaint. In their efforts to track down the attackers, the Pattaya police have been reviewing security camera footage from the area.
