A Grand Welcome at Seatran Koh Samui Pier
On August 12, 2023, at 08:30 AM, the Seatran Koh Samui pier (in front of Thon) was bustling with excitement as local officials, teachers, educational personnel, municipal employees, media representatives, parents, students, and Koh Samui residents gathered for the “Congratulations Sport Hero” event. Mr. Chayaphon Intarasupha, the Koh Samui District Chief, was joined by Mr. Pakorn Kanchana-opas, the Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui City Municipality, to preside over the ceremony.
Celebrating Victories in the 2023 Student Athletics Competition
This event honored the young athletes who participated in the 2023 Student Athletics Competition organized by the Department of Physical Education. The competition took place between August 7 and 11, 2023, at the Supachalasai Stadium (National Stadium) in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. The Municipality of Koh Samui had sent a delegation of 11 talented athletes from the Municipal School 4 Wat Kiri Mas to represent the region.
The Accomplished Athletes
These athletes showcased their skills in various competitions and brought home gold and silver medals. They participated in track and field events such as the 60-meter and 100-meter races for 8-year-old boys, the 4×100 meter relay for 8-year-old boys, the 80-meter race for 8-year-old boys, and the long jump for 8-year-old boys. The athletes were trained by Mr. Sukon Rabieb-Osot, Director of Municipal School 4 Wat Kiri Mas, Mr. Chawalit Chimrak, and Mr. Rangsan Suthirak, the athlete coaches.
Encouragement and Recognition
During the event, speeches were given by Mr. Chayaphon Intarasupha and Mr. Pakorn Kanchana-opas, who encouraged the young athletes to continue developing their skills and participate in national-level sports competitions. They emphasized the importance of gaining valuable experience and bringing fame to Koh Samui City Municipality and the people of Samui.
A Festive Parade and Commemorative Gifts
To honor the athletes’ achievements and express their congratulations, flowers and souvenirs were presented to the athletes and related officials. A festive parade with vehicles carrying the athletes traveled around Koh Samui, allowing residents to admire and share their congratulations on the young athletes’ accomplishments.
