On Saturday night, authorities closed off an area surrounding a car bomb explosion near a police base in Sungai Kolok district, Narathiwat. The incident occurred at the Orakan intersection, close to a railway track and the 9313 ad hoc police base. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Details of the Explosion
The explosion took place around 8 pm. According to witnesses, the bomb was placed in a car parked in the rain at the intersection. The driver of the car reportedly rushed out of the vehicle and rode away on a motorcycle that had been waiting nearby just minutes before the blast occurred.
Following the explosion, debris from the car was found scattered across a radius of approximately 100 meters. Among the debris were the car’s license plates. Authorities promptly closed the area, waiting for a bomb squad and forensic police to arrive and conduct their investigation.
