Launch of the Project

On the morning of June 13, 2023, the Ko Samui Municipality Office hosted the inauguration of the Mobile Health Check-up Project. The event was led by Mr. Suthum Samthong, Deputy Mayor of Ko Samui, in accordance with the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana.

Participants and Target Audience

The project brought together executives, municipal council members, government officials, and staff from Ko Samui Hospital. It focused on durian farmers, other agricultural workers, and individuals affected by chemical exposure to raise awareness and self-care for personal health.

Health Check-up Services Offered

A medical team from Ko Samui Hospital coordinated various health check-ups for the target audience. These services included blood tests to determine overall blood health, blood sugar tests to monitor possible diabetes, lipid tests to check cholesterol levels, kidney function tests, liver function tests, and cholinesterase enzyme level tests.

Proactive Health Plan for High-Risk Individuals

The project aimed to provide a proactive health check-up plan that covers high-risk individuals across all seven sub-districts of the Ko Samui region. It took place over five days, from June 13-17, 2023. The organizers anticipated a total of 1,400 people to participate in these health check-ups during this period.

Expanding Health Awareness in the Community

The Mobile Health Check-up Project in Ko Samui not only provided essential health services to agricultural workers and those affected by chemical exposure but also aimed to foster greater health awareness within the community. By offering information on personal health care and self-monitoring, the initiative sought to empower individuals to take greater responsibility for their well-being.
