Traffic Equipment Donation to Bo Phut Police Station

On September 6, 2023, at 10:00 am, a significant effort was made to improve road safety in Koh Samui. Mr. Suthum Samthong, the Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui City Municipality, led a team of municipal officials and employees to Bo Phut Police Station in Bo Phut Subdistrict, Koh Samui District. The objective was to provide traffic equipment aimed at preventing and reducing road accidents.

Police Lieutenant General Yutthana Sirisombat, the Director of Bo Phut Police Station, gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the station. The equipment provided by the municipality included:

  • 200 traffic cones
  • 100 collapsible traffic poles
  • 30 traffic barriers

Addressing the Post-COVID-19 Traffic Challenges

The tourism industry in Koh Samui District has witnessed a significant surge in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis. An increasing number of tourists have led to a considerable rise in traffic workload in the area. Koh Samui City Municipality acknowledged this issue and moved swiftly to address it by allocating budget to purchase traffic equipment for the Bo Phut Police Station.

A Collaborative Approach for Safer Roads

The donated equipment will be integrated for use in various activities to ensure future traffic safety. The primary focus will be on accident-prone areas and efficient traffic control. Additionally, the equipment will be utilized to provide convenience to the public according to different situations, such as roadworks or special events.
