Launching the Project
On August 22, 2013, the Youth and Innocence, Caring for the Future project was inaugurated at Koh Samui School in a ceremony attended by various stakeholders. Mr. Banyat Poolphon, Director of Koh Samui School, presided over the event, which included participants such as teachers, students, Koh Samui Hospital staff, municipal employees, and representatives from the Department of Public Health and Environment. The project aims to reach 250 students and young people, providing valuable resources and guidance.
Addressing the Challenges Faced by Modern Families
In today’s fast-paced world, families often struggle to provide adequate care and guidance to children, owing to the pressures of work, economic challenges, and the impact of social structures on individual behavior. Many students experiencing difficulties come from broken homes or environments lacking warmth and proper support. This can lead to a variety of problems, including early-age pregnancies among teenagers, which requires continuous education and awareness campaigns.
Focused on Quality Upbringing and Education
The project emphasizes the importance of promoting a quality upbringing that can help prevent and address potential problems faced by Thai teenagers in the future. It is funded by the Koh Samui National Health Security Fund and aims to provide essential training to students in areas such as sex education, personal development during adolescence, and the prevention of early-age pregnancies.
Instilling Moral Values and Self-Worth in Teenagers
By offering targeted education, the project seeks to instill strong moral values in Thai teenagers, helping them recognize and appreciate their self-worth. This will contribute to the prevention and resolution of unprepared pregnancies among teenagers, with the ultimate goal of reducing or completely eliminating such occurrences.
Building Skills for a Brighter Future
Youth and Innocence, Caring for the Future project is not only focused on addressing immediate concerns but also on equipping teenagers with the skills required to make responsible decisions in situations related to sex. This will enable them to take pride in themselves and confidently reject behaviors that may jeopardize their future well-being.
In conclusion, the project represents a comprehensive and collaborative effort to provide Thai teenagers with the support, education, and guidance they need to navigate the challenges of today’s world and lead fulfilling and responsible lives.
